Transform Your Wellness with the six Yogic Cleansing Kriyas - Shatkarmas

06 - 08 Sep     $375  Book Here

The hatha yoga cleansing practices are simple in nature but profound in their effect. Hatha yoga traditionally, begins with the shatkarmas, a group of cleansing practices which help to purify and detoxify the body and internal systems. With this detoxification of the body, the internal systems are regulated, helping to manage imbalances which occur within the body due to irregular diet, lifestyle and habits.

The practice is best done at the time of change of seasons to help the body adjust to the new season’s energy and qualities.

The weekend retreat will include the following cleansing and relaxation practices:

  • Nasal cleansing (Jala Neti)
  • Intestinal wash (Laghoo Shankaprakshalana)
  • Stomach cleansing (Kunjal Kriya)
  • Yoga Nidra - deep relaxation
  • Pranayama – breathing techniques, including full yogic breathing,  Bhramari (humming bee breath) and Kapalbhati (cleansing the frontal lobes of the brain)
  • Trataka – concentrated gazing on a candle flame

Yoga for health management – understanding yoga as a lifestyle for overall mental and physical health and wellbeing.

Other regular ashram practices including havan, kirtan, mantra, forest meditation walks, and karma yoga.

The program will allow time and space for periods of silence, personal reflection and self-study.

Inspired Living through Karma Yoga, Bhakti Yoga & Jnana Yoga

15 - 22 Sep     $375 Book Here
One week of Ashram Life participation experiencing morning hatha yoga, yoga nidra, and the three necessary yogas to enhance the beauty and quality of life.

In the system of yoga three major teachings are considered to be important to explore and experience balance, harmony and wellness in daily life.
Practical Application of Karma Yoga in Life
• Karma Yoga – how can balance of mind be developed incorporating the material worldly needs and the inner spiritual needs creating equanimity in action to harmonise the inner self and outer self.
By following the path of Karma Yoga, individuals can lead a life of purpose, integrity, and service, contributing to their own spiritual growth and the betterment of the world.

Purpose of Bhakti Yoga in Life
• Bhakti Yoga – Sadhana – the aim is to positively transform the emotions and sublimate those emotions to experience the true self, the true nature by under understanding ones self in the world of emotions and diversity.
Kirtan – mantra chanting together of the divine names,
Havan – preparing the fire ceremony, offering the mantra chanting for all beings as well as yoga ecology for all lands.
Seva – action with awareness, kindness and respect.
Daily 3 morning mantras as lifestyle sankalpas Mahamrityujaya Jap for personal individual wellbeing, humanity: offering to others for relief of suffering and comfort, Gayatri Mantra illuminating the consciousness with clarity, wisdom, discernment and Durga Path being able to overcome the difficulties harmoniously and constructively.
Purpose of Jnana Yoga in Life
• Jnana Yoga - The purpose of Jnana Yoga is to attain self understanding through the effort of self observation, transformation and self-knowledge. By understanding the nature of the quieter self and the worldly nature one can experience inner peace, joy and cultivate a positive approach to life. Jnana Yoga teaches that true freedom and peace come from recognizing our inner place of self, beyond the limitations of the mind, body, attachments and aversions that arise in life.  We experience the Supreme Yoga of Equanimity – a balance approach without being affected or defeated by the natural facts and dualities in life.

Sustaining and cultivating a positive attitude towards life.

"I came to Rocklyn for the conscious living course not knowing what to expect, but with expectations of getting some rest, some time out and some reflection. Wow! I came away with so much more. Atma has created an amazing space, and perhaps a unique resource in Victoria for anyone looking for more than yoga asana practice, to a deeper dive into meditation, prana and conscious, healthy living. The daily structure frees up headspace for reflection, taking time to both breathe in as well as contribute to the surrounding beautiful environs. I enjoyed getting my hands dirty in the food garden, helping out, chatting to other lovely souls all on their own journey and having a good look at the spinning thoughts and emotions that can fill our day, and lead to nowhere.

Thanks for guiding me through the course, and I very much look forward to coming again to take stock, recharge and learn more."  Jeremy
