Mental Health Support
Rocklyn Yoga Ashram promotes qualities of self responsibility and self awareness. When visiting the ashram we require people with mental health conditions to have a sufficient level of self care that allows them to manage their behaviours. If assistance with mental health issues is needed during your stay at the ashram, we require our visitors to seek professional mental health support outside the ashram. While the traditional yoga practices we offer support wholistic health, our yoga teachers are not mental health therapists.

Realizing that my busy corporate life was in need of balance, I found my way to Rocklyn having had no experience of Ashram life, yet trusting that the week long Yoga Ashram Life retreat would enable the peace and re-balance I was seeking. I was delighted that people visiting or else living the retreat were immediately welcoming and my bare feet breathed, shoulders dropped and heart rate slowed not long after arriving. While facilities are basic, the twice daily karma yoga awareness practices such as gardening and kitchen meal assistance were often shared with others and the insights gained there were deepened by daily yoga practices such as early morning yoga class and yoga nidra and supported by beautiful vegan meals. When interspersed with time alone to walk, read or just be, I was genuinely revitalized by the end of the 7 day stay and made some long term friends as well.
And so while I promised myself and the Ashram that I would return again, it was sooner than expected after deciding to take advantage of the Easter holiday break six weeks after my first visit. My previous visit had enabled to me relax and re-balance and gain a deeper perspective on the many things occurring in my personal life. Autumn had now descended, and the weather had turned cool, however the Ashram was as welcoming and calming as before. There were new visitors to meet and get to know especially during daily karma yoga program. During this visit I explored more of the tranquil surrounding bush land and took more time re-connecting with nature and enjoying the yoga experience. That's the beauty of Rocklyn: experiences each visit have been different yet the calming yoga philosophy and essence of Rocklyn has ensured that my health and wellbeing has improved each time and I feel re-balanced, re-centred and re-energized. And that's why I am sure to return again, like so many others before me. Inspired guest
