This week has been set aside as an annual get together for those seeking to go deeper into sadhana who are committed to a life journey in yoga. 

Perhaps the most important aspect of this event is the opportunity to come together with likeminded people supported by the ashram environment and all this offers. There is also a comprehensive formal program, with a mix of practice and philosophy, designed around complementary themes to assist practitioners continue to explore their own understanding and experience of yoga. This program falls into three main areas:

Journey into the Upanishads
This series of talks and discussions explores recurring themes in the Upanishads. It will include an overview of the role of the Upanishads in the tradition, and sessions on Ishavasya and Mandukya Upanishads presented by Rishi Nityabodhananda and Swami Vimalratna. 

The Three Granthis
Rishi Yogadiwali will give sessions on the three psychic knots, Brahma, Vishnu and Rudra Granthis. 

Pranayama as sadhana
These practical sessions and discussions will explore pranayama as personal sadhana, as a support for living more fully, in terms of managing and regulating the capacity of body, energy and mind, and harnessing human potential for the spiritual journey.

Antar Mouna, Inner Silence meditation
These practical sessions and discussions will explore the meditation practice antar mouna, beyond an observation of the inner noise, towards taming patterns of thought and behavior and creating a steady balanced mind.

This retreat is for those who wish to sustain and cultivate a positive attitude towards life.

Included are twice daily group sessions discussing the subject of focus for the day, a review at the end of the day before meditation, and the experience of regular yoga classes.

During the Living Consciously program participants will discover, experience and analyse the methods by which yogic principles and practices can be applied in their daily lives.

Course Overview

A Yoga Mindful Lifestyle Retreat differs a little from the Living Consciously program in that extra time is allocated after lunch to deepen relaxation and reclaim inner balance and direction during your personal retreat. Course material and group meetings are consistent with the Living Consciously concept of awareness.
