Course Daily Overview

1 month 

Week 1 - developing the capacity for self-observation

  • awareness of thoughts, emotions, action & reaction, effects on the mind, attitudes, positivity & negativity

Week 2 - developing stability

  • awareness of patterns of thought, ongoing patterns in life, creating new patterns, regularity in practice, sustaining change

Week 3 - non-attachment - letting go of the obsessive mind and discrimination

  • learning to act not react, witnessing & disidentification, attachments to attitudes, transforming negative to positive, maintaining balance, setting direction

Week 4 - self acceptance and goals in life

  • self acceptance, skills & attributes, developing the 4 aims/needs in life for balance and self expression, the understanding of dharma and karma 

Continue - 2 months 

Week 5 - Gunas, a map for self-transformation

  • recognising & harmonising the gunas in oneself: states of existence within and around us, tamas, rajas, sattwa

Week 6 - Patanjali Yoga Sutrascodes of consciousness 

  • Yama, awareness of attitudes, creating harmony, truthful observation in thought & action, honesty with ourselves in action, living with wisdom, reflecting on judgemental own thoughts and actions

Week 7 - Niyama

  • awareness of attitudes, cleansing practices, cleanliness thoughts, ideas and actions, contentment expressed in life, self-discipline, self study & learning from others, respect and gratitude 

Week 8 - 18 ities 

  • developing virtues in life
