Use 4 cups of flour per loaf (we use 3 wholemeal and one 1 rye flour)
Add one tsp of dry yeast per loaf and mix in flour
Make dough with warm water and flour and knead for 10 minutes.
Place dough into oiled bread tin and let it rise in a warm place (it should rise in half to three quarters of an hour).
Place risen dough into preheated oven and bake at 210°C for 10 minutes.
Then bake for 45 minutes at 190°C or until bottom of loaf sounds hollow.
Makes one loaf.
Farinata - Italian Chick Pea Bread
1 cup Besan Flour (Chickpea Flour)
2 cups water
2 tsp Olive Oil
pepper to taste
herbs (rosemary, spring onion or any other delicious available herbs)
Prep time: 5 minutes
Baking time: 30-40 minutes in a hot (190 degree) oven.
Mix Besan flour, water and salt in a bowl at least 3 hours before the Farinata is required. Preferably 24 hours before. Set aside and cover bowl.
Mix the flour and water mix with herbs spice and oil. Add mix to well-oiled pan. Bake for 30-40 minutes until cooked.
